Discover Normandy

from our apartment hotel in Calvados

When you stay in the rooms or apartments of our apartment hotel in Honfleur, take advantage of your independence to explore the Côte Fleurie and Pays d’Auge.

The journey starts in Honfleur, a charming destination next to the Pont de Normandie which is ideal for a romantic weekend or family holiday. Its picturesque streets, half-timbered façades, small boutiques, and traditional restaurants, as well as the Vieux-Bassin and the beaches make it an intimate and poetic seaside resort.

A town of painters and Impressionism, Honfleur has an extra touch of soul which makes it irresistible. On the Seine estuary, the changing lights of the sky inspired Courbet, Monet, Boudin and so many others. Even today, several dozen galleries and art workshops offer classic and modern works.

Unique architecture

Simultaneously a fishing port, trade port and a marina, the town has preserved and emphasised its rich historic and artistic heritage. A must-see: the Vieux Bassin, a historic port founded by Colbert, the Quai Sainte-Catherine with its tall narrow houses, the Enclos neighbourhood and its salt storehouses, the Saint-Leónard neighbourhood and church, the Saint-Catherine church, the largest wooden church in France with a separate bell tower...

Home of Impressionism

Since the 19th century, the atmosphere and light of the town have inspired numerous artists: starting with Huet, Leprince, and Isabey, then the Barbizon landscape artists with Troyon, Daubigny, Corot and Courbet, who taught the painters of the next generation, precursors to Impressionism like Boudin or Dubourg, Honfleur natives who in turn offered advice to the young Impressionists, including Claude Monet. A must-see: the Musée Eugène Boudin (re-opening late June 2016).

The beaches

Classified as a Seaside and Tourist Resort, Honfleur is an excellent holiday spot. Butin beach, Honfleur’s main beach, has excellent water quality which earned it Blue Flag certification. It has all the facilities needed to enjoy a comfortable and safe stay during the summer season: free nearby parking, showers, cabins, equipment hire and a playground for children. Vasouy beach, located along the coast towards Trouville, will attract those looking for a bit of peace...
